SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Recruitment 2023 : SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ refers to the examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in India to recruit candidates for the post of Stenographer in various ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India.  

The SSC Stenographer examination is typically conducted once a year. It consists of two levels – Computer-Based Examination (CBE) and Skill Test.  

Computer-Based Examination (CBE): The CBE is the first stage of the SSC Stenographer examination. It is conducted online and consists of multiple-choice questions. The subjects covered in the CBE are: General Intelligence and Reasoning General Awareness English Language and Comprehension 

Skill Test: After qualifying the CBE, candidates are required to appear for the Skill Test. In this test, candidates’ stenography skills are evaluated. They are given a dictation of a passage in English or Hindi, and they have to type it on a computer within the specified time. The speed requirements for both Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ vary, and candidates must meet the minimum speed criteria to qualify for the respective grade. It is essential to note that the Grade ‘C’ Stenographer post generally has a higher salary and responsibilities compared to the Grade ‘D’ Stenographer post.
